Day 1 – Sub-Floor Preparation & Moisture Management

  • British standards overview:
    A practical introduction to relevant British Standards in the flooring industry – what you need to know and how to stay compliant on-site.
  • Moisture testing techniques:
    Perform moisture testing using a range of equipment and interpret the results to determine next steps.
  • Damp proof membrane (DPM) solutions:
    Explore moisture mitigation methods, including when and how to apply DPM systems based on test outcomes.
  • Working with liquid screeds:
    Understand the key differences between traditional and calcium sulphate liquid screeds, and how to correctly prepare them for LVT installation.
  • Crack repairs:
    Learn how to identify and repair cracks effectively to ensure sub-floor stability and longevity.

Day 2 – LVT installation techniques

    A technical and visual overview of Luxury Vinyl Tile, including construction types, wear layers, and design formats.
  • LVT layout & setting out:
    Step-by-step guide to setting out for Straight Lay, Diagonal, and Herringbone installations – ensuring symmetry and flow.
  • Cutting methods:
    Learn accurate and efficient cutting techniques for detailed LVT installation using industry-standard tools.
  • Adhesive selection & application:
    Match the right adhesive system to the sub-floor and LVT type – includes wet and pressure-sensitive adhesives.
  • Dry adhesive systems:
    Introduction to dry adhesives – when to use them and tips for effective application.
  • Using WOLFF tools for LVT installations:
    Hands-on with WOLFF hand tools designed for LVT cutting, fitting, and detailing – improve speed and finish quality.
